Another option for air conditioning, not requiring idling of the large, inefficient truck engine, is 12-volt air conditioning. Options include charging a system when travelling between stops and then taking advantage of a storage cell, to a full-on 12-volt compressor system, especially helpful to trucks making many stops during a typical day.
